The following article contains HEAVY SPOILERS! Read on at your own caution!

Qasim Al Jahad (카심 알 하자드, Kasim Al Hajadeu; "Qasim Al Hajad") is a former professional boxer and one of the opponents Yu fought in his professional boxing career.

Appearance[]

Kasim is a visibly distinctive-looking individual, with sharp facial features, long voluminous crimson-coloured hair that flares wildly and falls halfway down his back, crimson-coloured eyebrows with equally crimson-coloured eyes and a huge grin almost permanently affixed on his face, revealing his large shark-like teeth.

Before he regained his fighting fitness, Kasim was visibly overweight with a big stout belly and a double chin and had light stubbly moustache and even lighter stubble on his double chin; his arms retained their muscular definition however. Though after regaining his fighting fitness, Kasim once again adopted a much more defined and muscular physique.

Personality[]

Kasim is a swaggering, spoilt, and arrogant man with an extravagant showboating personality in and out of the ring, bringing about controversy and polarization in the Boxing world by merely participating. At any recourse, Kasim's first course of action is to try to throw money at the problem, paying people to spar with him and proposing to simply buy out the Boxing organization he competed in to change the rules to allow for illegal moves he performed out of ignorance.

Despite all this, as with many of his archetype, Kasim is in actuality, a coward, fleeing at the prospect of being truly challenged by a technically adept fighter in Yu and never returning to the Boxing ring in spite of his body's amazing capabilities.

Plot[]

Abilities[]

Kasim's body is an oddity, compared to a stallion by K, with high speed, endurance, striking power even whilst clearly overweight before bouncing back to a prime physique after only two weeks of training. He was able to defeat many an opponent, blazing through the Boxing world with his "unique" style. Labelled by some as a "paradigm shift" in Boxing.

In truth, however, Kasim has absolutely no technical knowledge of Boxing, choosing to strike with both fists, something he believed to allow him to attack two places at once when it only led to his potential striking power being dissipated due to wasted energy and motion from his unstable form. Even simple rules such as only being allowed to strike with the knuckles instead of with Hammerfists eluded him on some occasions. Despite this, his physical abilities proved to compensate for his poor technique time and time again as he showboated across his bouts up until he faced Yu.

Ultimately, his lack of drive to actually be challenged, only viewing Boxing as a game to be played for fun as opposed to a combat sport and martial art that would require more sacrifice and effort than any other activity.

Enhanced Durability: Despite not actually finishing his fight with Yu, he showed that he could actually take a punch. It has been shown that Yu can floor opponents with only a few solid blows, but Kasim was able to take a few without losing consciousness.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • Kasim has a noticeable fire motif, from his hot-blooded personality to his flame-patterned boxing shorts.
  • Kasim may be based off, or at least, parallels the real life boxer "Prince" Naseem Hamed who was known for his extreme physical capabilities, animal-like reflexes, extreme pride, and lack of any guard (or technical ability whatsoever in Kasim's case). Furthermore, both boxers were then given their first loss via extremely technically sound and conservative boxing which caused them to retire.
